Last Call For Tonight's Animal Kingdom Preview in NYC!

animal_kingdom_2_225.jpgAre you in New York? Do you like movies? If you answered "Yes" to both of these questions, then hightail it down to Tribeca tonight for a preview screening of the splendid new film Animal Kingdom, whose director and a portion of whose cast will be on hand to talk it over with you (and me, your humble moderator). Read on for details.

If you've heard me once you've heard me a thousand times, but: You really must see this wonderful movie. And the bragging rights you will earn for having a two-month head-start on your friends, neighbors, relatives, boss, coworkers, chauffer, barista, hairstylist, landlord, grocery clerk, dry cleaner, boss (did I already say "Boss? They'll be really impressed with your taste and class, probably warranting a promotion and/or raise by the end of the week) and/or every other person within five degrees of your immediate social circle will dazzle all. Dazzle, folks. "Impress" is so Precious, so Hurt Locker, so... forever ago.

In case you still are in the dark on this one, check out the review from its wildly successful Sundance run here, and prepare for a discussion with director David Michôd and his distinguished cast members Jacki Weaver and James Frecheville. We'll be at 92Y Tribeca, where the screening begins at 7:30 p.m. sharp. More info is here; hope to see you then, and please do introduce yourself!

Fantastic film! And a fantastic evening. Thank you for hosting this screening. I'll be spreading the good word on this movie and will be seeing it again upon release.
David Michod seems like the nicest guy. I hope he enjoys all the good things that are about to happen to him.

  • Thanks for the comments and for attending!

The movie was great--will definitely be spreading the word. David didn't quite answer the question, but it sounded like it would get a decent release. At least bigger than a NY/LA kind of release? Anyway it was a treat to be able to hear David, Jacki and James talk about making the film. Thanks so much for doing this.
