Smurfs Trailer Debuts New, Tone-Loc-Sampling Theme Song
Hope you didn't get your hopes up about that Smurfs teaser trailer: it has arrived (via Yahoo), and it has about two seconds more of Smurfage than could be gleaned via today's first still. But! There is a brief snatch of the new theme song, and it's been remixed with Tone Loc's "Wild Thing," because why wouldn't it be? (Here is why: because the Alvin and the Chipmunks sequel already took "Single Ladies.")
Enjoy! And just remember: Smurfette needs fifty dollars to make you holler.

When did Times Square get relocated to lower Manhattan? That's quite a trick.
I'm gonna hold out for the Red Band trailer.
I'm finding it a little bit disconcerting (and unintentionally hilarious) that both THE SMURF MOVIE and SHREK 4 have taken to substituting expletives with their names in the near-identical taglines used to sell these movies.
"SMURF happens"
"What the SHREK just happened?"
That's because the movies always wind up being smurfin' shrek.
Or skrekking smurf.
I once got infected with Smurfs from a Lower East Side toilet.
There's an ointment that will bring the burning feeling under control.
The trailer may be low concept, but it looks pretty cute! And not in that weird beastiality way like the Chipmunks.
I remember that a song I heard on the radio had the "la la la" part from the smurfs theme song at the beginning of the song. Does anyone know what the song is called and who its by?
"Smurfenlied" by Vader Abraham
I wonder if the sequel will be called "the Smurfquel."
Not to suggest that this looks desperate, but I lay 3 - 1 odds there is a gag scene where they encounter the Blue Man Group in the subway and everyone stares at each other and then simply shrugs, before carrying on with their antics.
Somewhere, tone loc is crying.
