Betty White on The View: Remembering Rue and The Golden Girls

Since Rue McClanahan's passing on June 3, there's one thing that's been missing: the comforting coo of Rose Nylund herself, Betty White. Though White released a statement about her Golden Girls co-star immediately after her death, it wasn't until this week on The View that we were able to see her reflect on the duo's halcyon days of lanais and pastel-colored pants. Video of White discussing the shock of McClanahan's death (and her status as the last living Golden Girl) is after the jump.

All right. That was too sad. I'm starting up the Facebook petition for Betty White to encourage us to keep on keeping on.

Why does everyone have to keep reminding her that she's "the last remaining Golden Girl". It's like saying to someone every time you see them, "Hey Oldie. All of your friends are dead, when do you think it's your turn? We've set out timers." It's just so tactless and tacky. Bless you, Betty White.
