Robert Pattinson Markets The Twilight Saga: Eclipse With Two Words
What is it with movie stars moonlighting as marketing geniuses? Earlier, it was Aubrey Plaza stumping for Super 8 -- though, to be fair, Plaza just tweeted the following: "I'm not MarKEtinG SH*T! I just GOTTA know what's indat BOXXXX" -- and now Robert Pattinson has come up with a surefire way to get people in the seats for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. At a press conference today, when asked why people should see Eclipse, Pattinson offered the best reason he could think of: "Why not?"
Continuing: "It's grown so big that it's become part of the cultural environment, unless I'm just imagining it. I guess if you don't know what the story's about by now, you've probably never been to the cinema, so why not just go to the cinema for once?"
Oh, R-Patz! Kidding aside, Pattinson did say that Eclipse is the most accessible film of the series thus far. And based on the tweets of those who saw a special screening last night, he might be right. Go Team Edward!

Anyone notice that the more Sparkles speaks, the less attractive he becomes?
Is it really part of the 'cultural environment' though? Besides in the kids aisle's, where would you find twilight related stuff?
I sure don't care.
haha well it definitely is a huge pop-cultural phenomenon, that is why we are seeing this explosion of vampire crap that we are seeing right now. I thought I would hate anyone from such a franchise but I actually quite enjoy the awkwardness that is Robert Pattinson and even Kristen Stewart.
Actually I thought it was a very intelligent answer. It wasn't filled with over praising 'we are so awesome' tripe. and he is correct that you'd have to be living out in no man's land not to know about Twilight so why not just go see it.
And no matter what he says he can't be as bad as his not girlfriend Kristen. To be dumb enough to equate being photographed on the street with rape. I get the meaning she was going for, but still bad choice of words. I actually saw a woman's mag with her on the cover and a praising headline about how she's become a superstar by 'breaking all the rules' and I wanted to gag. She's immature, not that pretty (in part because she doesn't even try) and not really that talented. She is a superstar because she got lucky and Twilight went big. Period.
LOL Sparkles. funny 🙂
i guess he has only talked america or he overestimates the phenomenon. the cultural thing depends on the country you are in. you can be living in germany and easily have not ever heard of the name twilight or pattinson.
The Sookie Stackhouse novels (from which True Blood is adapted) predate the Twilight books so I wouldn't necessarily give Twilight all the credit for the resurgence of vampires in pop culture.
Sorry to disapoint you, Kam! Even in Africa...in places they where there is no television or moview theaters, they sure heard of Twilight!
Jealous much?!!
I am sick of hearing about Twilight or anything to do with its talentless stars
man i love twilight so much 🙂
yeah sure maybe five people WOW imperessive. like he said unless he imagines things, and yes he does
