Heads Up, L.A.: Christopher Nolan, Edgar Wright Chats Added at LAFF

chris_nolan_laff.jpgThe Los Angeles Film Festival is always known to add a few big names and events at its leisure, usually with a week's notice to remind locals that yes, this fest is happening, and you might consider checking it out. And 2010 is no different, with a cluster of pretty high-profile visitors announced late Wednesday -- and plenty of tickets still on sale (for now).

Christopher Nolan and Edgar Wright are the latest adds to the festival's "Conversations" line-up, a list already comprising Ben Affleck and Sylvester Stallone; a Twitter panel with Eli Roth, Richard Kelly and Adam Shankman; and a screening of The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension with John Lithgow in attendance. Even Shane Hurlbut -- the cinematographer target of Christian Bale's legendary Terminator Salvation rant -- will be dropping by to "talk about how [he] achieved [his] distinctive look." (Hint: It's f***ing distracting!)

Anyway: Nolan and Wright. The Inception director will be on hand June 18 to introduce a screening of Pink Floyd The Wall, followed by a discussion of the film (and whatever else happens to come up ahemBatman3cough) with Elvis Mitchell. Wright, meanwhile, will visit June 20 to talk to J.J. Abrams (!) "about Wright's career and [screen] an early glimpse at scenes from Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World." Again, these were just added and tickets were available as of this writing, so get after it, early birds.

This storyline and idea that Nolan has been functioning on considering that he was a teenager is executed beautifully. It can be an Original idea which is NOT based away of a book, comic, or older video. I guarantee you are going to have to determine it twice to completely understand this wonderful, 2.five hour dvd knowledge. I will most certainly be seeing it yet again. You might feel lost at things through the movie flick, but stick with it. Inception is quite a thought-provoker.
