Hollywood Ink: Stephen Moyer Gets Famous
· You're either wondering who Stephen Moyer is or what took him so long to hit the big screen. Either way, the True Blood star has taken his first two movie roles -- and there isn't a vampire to be found. In The Double, he'll co-star alongside Richard Gere and Topher Grace as a retired Russian spy (accent!) -- Wanted co-screenwriter Michael Brandt directs. And in The Big Valley, he'll play a family lawyer for the Barkley clan, a family of ranchers in 19th century California led by Jessica Lange's matriarch. Note: if you are worried about Hollywood planning two original-ish movies, don't be: Valley is an adaptation of the 1960s ABC series that starred Barbara Stanwyck. [THR/Heat Vision]
Danny Boyle goes to the Olympics, Mark Wahlberg pitches the Entourage movie and the rest of Hollywood Ink after the jump.
· No one can accuse Danny Boyle of staying inside the box. The Academy Award winner is in talks to presumably direct the opening ceremonies at the London Olympics in 2012. Nothing has been signed yet, but apparently the committee is looking for "the most imaginative ceremony the world has ever seen." And with crazy-looking cyclops as mascots, they are certainly well on their way! Boyle is currently working on 127 Hours with soap opera star James Franco. [/Film]
· When Mark Wahlberg wasn't cursing out a kid from Harry Potter at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, he was talking about the Entourage film you don't want to see! "I am more focused on making that movie than my own films. I just think we can make a great movie." Okay, so what's his idea? "In the trailer, you see [Ari and his associate, Lloyd] waking up together in Vegas not knowing what happened. It would be pretty cool!" So it's The Hangover but with Jeremy Piven. Sounds (not) awesome. [MTV]
· Future Les Grossman feature film star Tom Cruise got some good news yesterday. Knight and Day -- the film he should have been promoting at the MTV Movie Awards -- had its release date moved up two days to June 23rd. Get your tickets now! [THR]
· And it's official: Zac Efron c-blocked girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens. Because Efron's Charlie St. Cloud was scheduled to open the same day as Hudgens' Beastly, CBS moved the film to March 18, 2011. No truth to the rumor that Efron has already been to Zales to pick up the "Kobe Special." [THR]

“In the trailer, you see [Ari and his associate, Lloyd] waking up together in Vegas not knowing what happened. It would be pretty cool!” Sounds like a riveting trailer!
I hate to tell you otherwise, but these aren't Stephen Moyers first two movies. He's had a string of them over the years mostly overseas, which is why you probably are not up on your facts. He also has a number of them that have been finished recently but not yet released. He's a hot commodity.
Couldn't Whalberg just channel his creative energies into not making Entourage a boring retred of the same stories again and again with diminishing results? Or maybe just take his exciting idea for a movie and use it in an Entourage season since 1) unfortunately the show is still churning out new episodes and 2) HBO offers more creative freedom than a multiplex-friendly film does?
I'll be interested to see if the big screen wizards can work their magic on Stephen Moyer's hair. The dude has been sporting an unfortunate Moe-Howard-esque bowl cut w/ icky straight bangs for way too long on True Blood.
A hot commodity that 99% of the population never heard of before True Blood. This is like saying Katherine Heigl was a big star after My Father the Hero.
