Glee Star Didn't Qualify for American Idol

amber100.jpgDid you know that Glee's Amber Riley auditioned for American Idol at age 17? Randy Jackson is just finding out. "Yo, that girl Amber Riley, she I guess, I didn't know this, she didn't make it to us," he told Extra. "She auditioned for Idol and got rejected. She's like the lead singer, the lead star of Glee, and let me tell you something America, this girl is talented and she can really sing." I'm sure Riley auditioned just for the approval of Randy Jackson, so this is probably quite validating. Thanks, dawg. [Extra]

Yo, Randi. That excuse was kind of pitchy.

talent isn't the biggest deciding factor on whether someone makes it on american idol? I'M SHOCKED!
also, notice that he only bemoans losing her talent when she's famous for something else. remember what idol did to jennifer hudson? academy award winner, jennifer hudson?

Amber Riley is pyrotechnic. Failure to detect talent is so prevalent that it barely merits mention. As for American Idol, choosing that guy this time around, whose name and face are forgettable and whose voice isn't even good enough to be boring, is such a joke. Chrystal (is that how she spells it?) is so clearly his superior that ANYONE listening without looking at the screen would know it...there's obviously other political stuff going on with that show. Last season, Adam didn't win, even though HE was clearly the winner. Well, politics and show biz, they are not what they appear to be on the surface, deals are made and there are myriad other considerations besides the purported ones.

  • I saw something similar to this on another site and didn't really understand it, but this post makes it easier to understand. Cheers!

  • This is interesting! How did you learn this stuff when you were new to it?
