What's On: Barenaked Bachelorette

alinew225.jpgThe Bachelorette ventures back to the '90s this week and features a band you haven't thought about since VH1's Top 20 Video Countdown was an active part of your life. At this rate, half of the vying bachelors will be narrated with Pop-Up Video bubbles, and bachelorette Ali will confess that she's Shawn Colvin. This is likely all false, but just in case it's not, be prepared for the best night of your life.

The Bachelorette [ABC, 8 PM]

Several of Ali's bachelors are cast with her in a Barenaked Ladies video, because of course. After Roberto inevitably choreographs a salsa dance around that whole "Chickity China, the Chinese chicken" verse, a front-runner emerges and leaves the rest of the gents worried.

Last Comic Standing [NBC, 8 PM]

The auditions for the new season kick off in Los Angeles, where host Craig Robinson and panelists Greg Giraldo, Natasha Leggero, and Andy Kindler judge the incoming comics. I'm positive there's room for the winners on this show to be actually funny. I swear. Let's all make sure we don't vote for Dat Phan if he tries out again wearing an old-timey disguise.

Real Housewives of New Jersey [Bravo, 10 PM]

Danielle has a cute allegation that Jacqueline's daughter made a threat on her life. Table-flip, please! Dina seeks her "energist's" advice, rearranges some Zen crystals, and tries to cut Danielle out of her world. That's not as easy as it sounds, as Danielle and Dina have a run-in and start another argument.

The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother [FMC, 10 PM]

It's no Blazing Saddles or Young Frankenstein, but TAoSHSB combines most of what you love about those two films and adds kooky tales from 221B Baker Street. Gene Wilder directed, wrote, and starred in this film as the famous detective's screwball sibling. Madeline Kahn, Dom DeLuise, and Marty Feldman co-star.

I had no idea 'Last Comic Standing' was still on the air! I don't think I ever saw a single episode. Might watch it tonight since I'm in a big stand-up comedy mood after listening to the Nerdist all day.

I caught TAoSHSB a couple of weeks ago. Laugh out loud funny.
