VIDEO: Gwyneth Paltrow Shows Us How to Make Tacos, Because Why Not
In her GOOP manifesto this week, actress/lifestyle icon/aspiring Food Network Star Gwyneth Paltrow includes a video in which she prepares a Mexican dinner, family style. I think we can all agree how it's remarkable that over the course of the six-and-a-half-minute clip, Gwyneth a) doesn't ostentatiously brag about her utter fluency in Spanish and b) actually speak in Spanish for at least half of the running time to demonstrate said fluency. Also remarkable: the amount of baby food and stomach crunches her punishing personal trainer Tracy Anderson will inflict on her for daring to eat an actual meal. Hope it was worth it, GP. I hear AZ Goernor Jan Brewer is offended by this and may take steps to ban Gwyneth from her State. She has my full support.
What I found remarkable: That she does not have a small bowl that contained her chilis that she refers to as he "pepper pot".
She's just so completely joyless in her cooking, as if she knows it's all just a death march to baby food and absurd (and filmed, and broadcast) arm exercises.
She seems natural, charming and friendly. Damn her! No wonder all you pale, shapeless bloggers hate her. Food looks delicious and easy. Have to check out Goop myself.
