New Mr. T Pities the Gay Fools
How do we know that Rampage Jackson, the Ultimate Fighter who plays B.A. Baracus in the reboot of The A-Team, is new to the mainstream press? Because during a set visit by the LAT, Jackson got in a physical fight with assistant directors, mused pejoratively that "Vancouver strikes me as a San Francisco-kind of place," called out production overruns, and noted, "Acting is kind of gay. It makes you soft. You got all these people combing your hair and putting a coat over your shoulders when you're cold. I don't want a coat over my shoulders! I'm a tough-ass [motherf***er]!" [LAT]

He plays B.A. Barracus in the new film. Mr. T is the name of the actor.
I'm pretty sure he's playing Mr. T.
You're kidding, right? Did no one actually copy edit this article before it was posted?
The headline is based completely on the assumption that Rampage Jackson is playing Mr. T in the A-Team movie. He doesn't play Mr. T, he plays BA Baracus, the character played by Mr. T in the original TV series.
Attributing the homophobic statements made by Rampage Jackson to Mr. T is a bit irresponsible and defamatory. I'd expect this from one of the UK gossip rags, but not movieline.
He's either too young to know the difference between pleasing his U.F.C. fans by speaking in a "character" voice they follow (though at 31 he shouldn't be) or he's just that stupid all day long.
Dwayne Johnson's done okay without ever offending anyone.
From the LAT article:
"Here, there's a thing called 'pecking order,' " Jackson said. "I'm not used to that. People can be really inconsiderate of people's feelings. I wasted three weekends in a row waiting in my trailer when they didn't use me at all. To be honest, my experience in this movie industry hasn't always been good."
"If you know one thing about me, I say time is the most valuable thing in this universe. I hate wasting time. And these [individuals] wasted a lot of my...time!"
Yeah, getting a shot (as an unknown) to play one of the most iconic characters in television history and to work with Liam Neeson is a major drain.
I imagine that sweet Trailer you had to waste time in along with free food all day was probably pretty miserable.
And as far as "pecking order" goes?
Let's think about it...
4 main characters:
Liam Neeson - Lead Actor OSCAR nominee.
Bradley Cooper - Lead in the highest grossing R-Rated comedy of all time.
Sharlto Copley - Lead in a film that made more than $200m world-wide.
Rampage Jackson - Supporting role in The Midnight Meat Train with a total US Box-Office of $74k.
Hmmmm...
Now that I take a longer look at it, I can see where he'd think it's unfair.
Considering Mr T was playing Mr T, I'm inclined to agree.
Aww, shit; that rhymed.
Point made and understood, but to be fair, _Midnight Meat Train_ didn't exactly get a true theatrical release...it was dumped into 2nd run cheapie theaters (and picked up for midnight screenings in some cases). I'm not saying it would have been a great success (it wouldn't have been), but...
