50 Cent's Emaciated Cancer-Movie Look Ignites Fan Backlash
Holy crap, what happened to Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson? While the rapper-actor has been known to take his acting somewhat seriously in the past, no one likely foresaw the level of commitment he'd assume for his upcoming drama Things Fall Apart. Least of all his fans, who would just like to say that Fitty can regain that 50-plus pounds of muscle and body fat any time now.
As previously reported, Things Fall Apart features Jackson (who wrote the film as well) as a college football star who faces his mortality after being stricken with cancer. And let's face it: When a 34-year-old attempts to pass himself off as a college hero, the least he can do is lose 54 pounds to at least make the cancer part of his role look real. He told Us Weekly that he achieved the weight loss via a "liquid diet and three-hour-a-day treadmill walks for nine weeks," adding that he was "starving" on the set of the Mario Van Peebles-directed drama. As weight-shedding actors go, he joins the infamous ranks of Christian Bale (The Machinist, Rescue Dawn) and Michael Fassbender (Hunger) in the pursuit of visceral, unflinching realism. And an Oscar, I guess, though I don't think anyone's ever won much more than a TV show for dropping massive lbs. in a matter of weeks.

I believe that is a true picture of 50 cent. I hope he wins big in the making and the ending of the movie. I'm pretty sure everyone will love it and he'll make millions of bucks! I'm actually excited to see it.. 50 cent is a good actor and I'd like to see more of his work.

all these comments show to me is that 50's fans are complete tools. he lost the weight to play a cancer patient! of course he has to look emaciated to portray it realistically. i actually respect him way more for having the willpower to run his body into the ground because it surely wasnt done for vanity. any fan thats worries about how 50 looks obviously aint a real fan of his rap, theyre fans of his bulked out steroid look. see music has nothing to do with appearance, thats why stevie wonder is one of the best but film does as dramatically exemplified by christian bale and tom hanks among others
