ABC Clears Up Lost Finale's Closing Plane-Crash Images
Remember how at the end of the Lost series finale -- after Jack's eye closed for the last time and you cried and the "L O S T" logo popped up on screen -- there were those images of the Oceanic flight 815 wreckage on the beach? And you thought it meant something? Well, as it turns out, enough people agreed with you for an ABC spokesperson to come out and comment on the closing credits late yesterday. So, does it mean the 815ers were dead the entire time?
No, of course not. "The images shown during the end credits of the Lost finale, which included shots of Oceanic 815 on a deserted beach, were not part of the final story but were a visual aid to allow the viewer to decompress before heading into the news," said the network rep. Also, because David Chase already used a black screen. Right, guys?
Anyway, to recap: Like Christian told Jack in the church, everyone died. Some before Jack, some after. And they met up again on the way to heaven. Because, hey, why not? Of course how the network could think they could show something like that and not raise the ire of a fanbase conditioned to look for meaning in the most meaningless clues is a matter for another day, but for now, case closed.

I don't know. I kinda think the sideways life was hell, and the island was pergatory. I think they all had real lives somewhere in time that we never saw.
till the movie... which will hit theatres right after the Arrested Development film opens.
There was really no need for ABC to come out with this statement. The best part of Lost is the mystery. Why kill any talk about anything Lost related? Let the dreamers dream and the haters hate. Really the finale proved just that. The way the writers closed the show was brilliant because it let viewers come to their own conclusions. To come back and say sorry this one visual was just a place holder really ruins a great part of the mystery for me. I watched the show with a huge group of people and the band 'Previously on Lost'. .itsasickness.com/lounge/adam-and-jeff-are-obsessed-lost Everyone was either balling, screaming, or cheering by the end. The last visual inspired so much conversation I don't see why they would not just let it go.
This final scene shows that ABC/Lost screwed it up, not cleared it up as your headlines say.
Why was it so easy to kill the Smoke Monster? Kate puts one bullet into him, poof, that's it when earlier they shot at him and he walked through it.
Because the cave light was off at that time and he was mortal again. You can see that because when Jack beats him, he bleeds and run away scared.
