Gemma Arterton 'Not Even Close' as Megan Fox's Transformers 3 Heir?
The general rule of thumb on public message boards is to take seemingly official disclosures with a grapefruit-sized grain of salt. So: Here's your salt, and now here are a few teasing head-ups about Megan Fox's Transformers 3 replacement from a Michael Bay associate who has no reason to lie.
If you want to feel your brain warm, swell and puddle in bloody droplets inside your ear canals, you could do worse than to spend hours reading the message boards at producer Don Murphy's site and Michael Bay's own. Everyone there has a suggestion or five (often misspelled and/or adventurously underpunctuated) as to who Shia LaBeouf's new 'bot-battling vixen should be, but you need only pay attention to one contributor: a guy with the nom de board "iceforest" or, on Bay's site (which he helps run), "Nelson." In the last 36 hours, his comments to folks mentioning rumored front-runner Gemma Arterton have gone a little like this:
Not even close. As in the rumor of who's going to be the new girl.
Maybe one small tattoo. No hints, but it's not Gemma.
Well, then. For the record, the other rumored front-runner -- Israeli bikini/lingerie model Bar Refaeli -- does not appear to have any tattoos. Scarlett Johansson has the forearm sunset thing, but she's probably too expensive and has already done her time with Bay. Here at ML HQ we've narrowed it down to Mila Kunis (wrist tattoo) and Amanda Seyfried (foot tattoo), neither of whom would wash Bay's Ferrari for the part but wouldn't think twice about that paycheck. If it's good enough for Frances McDormand, it's good enough for them (though, if we're being honest, Seyfried is probably too big a star by now).
Or maybe we're completely off! Like I said, grain of salt. Let's hear yours if you've got them.

How about Lindsey Lohan. She and Michael Bay deserve each other.
Seyfried is filming Girl with the Red Riding Hood beginning in July and will be not be finished with that until late September/early October, and has stated that she will go back to Big Love for some guest appearances after that. Even if she were available, it's unlikely that she would consider this role since it will likely be minor (she's a lead now), and this isn't her type of movie. She did mention that she liked her paycheck for Letters to Juliet, but liked the director and script as well, which hardly makes her a sell out.
Kunis wouldn't be a bad choice, she's hot and is a decent actress but I don't think she would take the part. Given Bay's reputation, my guess is that he will have to cast an unknown for the role since no halfway extablished actress will want a crappy T&A role in a declining franchise, directed by an asshole. My vote is Brooklyn Decker.

Who cares what actress plays the eye candy in Transformers 3? I mean really! Come on.
Transformers isn't supposed to be about slow motion cleavage gratuity. It's about the frickin' robots. Speaking of which, can we have the Autobots act more like soldiers from another planet and less like horrifying racial stereotypes? Predators look like they have dreadlocks but they dont speak in Jamaican accents and try to sell you pot and Bob Marley cds before they kill you.
