CBS Trailers (and $#*! My Dad Says): Yay or Nay?

Mike & Molly

He's an overweight cop. She's an overweight elementary school teacher. Even with relatively unrecognizable leads (Billy Gardell, Melissa McCarthy) this sitcom has a leg up on the rest of the Tiffany Network's new series because it's from Chuck Lorre (Big Bang Theory) and it will benefit from its grade-a lead-in, Two and a Half Men, which is also from Lorre.

Verdict: Yay.

That Hawaii 5-0 clip reached the point where I was surprised when segments didn't end with a character getting punched in the face.

We'll see. Les Moonves better hope this thing doesn't start sinking. That said, series that get shopped to another network rarely survive. Five-0 and "...my dad says" probably have the best shot.

  • Mike the Movie Tyke says:

Ugh. I wish Five-O was better, but like most reboots they try too hard to make it hip. The original was about straight arrow guys protecting a crime-ridden paradise, but of course these days it's the cops who have to be too cool for school and look like they just walked off a GQ shoot. Plus, I bet the new theme will suck ("yeah, let's make it a cool rockin' version!" Uhh, how about not. Remember how U2 ruined the Mission Impossible theme?)

  • The Winchester says:

Yeah, but remember how Limp Bizkit came a few years later and made everything right again?
