Charlie Sheen's Sitcom Hardball Pays Off, Moves on to Prison Cigarette Negotiations

OK, Charlie Sheen. The world gets it. You are a negotiator extraordinaire. You followed your own sitcom hardball rules -- you rejected the network's first offer, bluffed that you would "not be fazed" if you did not return to your hit sitcom -- and you were grandly rewarded. But now you are trying to negotiate the smoking terms of your jail sentence? That's just showboating.

Late last night the Two and a Half Men star inked a new deal with Warner Bros TV for two years and released this statement: "To put a fitting end on the two and one-half months of whirlwind speculation, I'm looking forward to returning to my CBS home on Monday nights. I want to thank Les Moonves for his support." CBS is rumored to have increased their initial offer of just over $1 million considerably. Last season, Sheen made $900,000 per episode and allegedly asked for $2 million when discussions about an eighth season began.

Now Us is reporting that the actor's criminal defense attorney is trying to get the jail, where Sheen could face up to 45 days for assaulting his wife, to make an exception to their no-smoking policy. The Aspin's Pitkin County Jail, where Sheen will likely serve time, allows inmates to use nicotine patches but not nicotine gum or cigarettes. Something tells me they won't be as generous as CBS in their terms.
