The initial Transformers toys were developed in the diverse transforming robot toylines from Takara, especially the Diaclone and Micro Change (Microman) series. Hasbro acquired the rights to promote them within the Usa but, instead of selling them under their initial names, they had been rebranded as "The Transformers."
