Twitter Attacked, Brave Celebrities Respond
Hackers did "a number" on Twitter today (thanks for the pun, Demi Moore) by erasing all users' follower counts for a couple of hours. In the face of Twitter armageddon, though, some celebrities managed to straddle the fault lines and keep Tweeting. For the most part, the famous and afflicted broke down into three types of responders. We've chosen the best representative from each category.
There were damsels like Kim Kardashian:
"Someone hacked my twitter account and direct messaged me! They have added over 200 new people! Ughhhhh."
The wise men like Jim Carrey:
"Imagine if this hacker put his/her talent 2 some worthy use."
And the heroes like P. Diddy:
"I will use my magical powers to fix this! Never fear @iamdiddy is here! HERE I COME TO SAVE THE DAY! Nothing nor no one can keep us apart!:)"
That's Diddy for you. Treating the world as his own personal Lois Lane since 1996.

Twits.
Celebrity Twits.
Wrong. Twitter didnt hacked. It was just a small bug. Twitter resetted follower numbers itself to fix the bug.
Ewwwww, Kim Kardashian hates bugs!
yes and no.
no one wrote a way to do what was done.
but exploiting a bug is still a form of hacking and in that sense, yes Twitter was hacked.
it was crude and uncalled for to force folks, particularly celebs, to follow you. particularly so that you can direct message them. Behavior like that could cause some of them to dump Twitter out of a distaste for that kind of cyber stalking. Yeah it would be great if so and so would follow you and then you can feel like BFFs. but that doesn't mean you can force yourself on them. Just not cool.
