Hollywood Ink: Joseph Gordon-Levitt to be Twice as Busy

jgl.jpg

· The good news: Joseph Gordon-Levitt may reunite with Brick director Rian Johnson for the sci-fi-thriller Looper. The bad news: More time-travel nonsense, with JGL playing a criminal sent back in time to kill himself. Johnson's earned the benefit of the doubt, though, and at least it's got a better title than Premium Rush, the actor's other pending deal from Monday. David Koepp will direct the tale of a New York City bike messenger (Gordon-Levitt) whose chased through town for the suspicious package he's carrying from Columbia University. [THR]

David O. Russell makes the short-list for a video-game adaptation (!), Sam Rockwell may rejoin Jon Favreau, and more Hollywood Ink after the jump.

· If you're still heartbroken over what could have been with David O. Russell's Breaking Dawn, don't despair too much. The incendiary filmmaker is reportedly on a list of filmmakers with whom Sony wants to take meetings for Uncharted: Drake's Fortune -- an adaptation of the popular video-game adventure. God, God please make this happen. [LAT]

· Sam Rockwell is expected to re-team with his Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau in the graphic-novel adaptation Cowboys Vs. Aliens. Rockwell would join a cast already comprising Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford and Olivia Wilde. [THR]

· Hunter S. Thompson's 2004 Vanity Fair story Prisoner of Denver(co-written with Mark Seal) has been acquired for a possible screen adaptation by the Motion Picture Corporation of America. Thompson would no doubt have looked at that company's name and puked with laughter. Whatever, as long as the checks clear. [THR]

· Alex Holdridge, whose B&W indie In Search of a Midnight Kiss is one of the more underrated romantic comedies of the last few years, may finally get a chance at a breakout with Fox Searchlight's The F Word. "F" equaling "friendship," that is, as a young man and woman try to sort out whether they're friends or mates. High five, Holdridge. [LAT]
