Cash-Strapped Weinsteins Launch New Web Site Full of Naked Girls

Mainstream America loves its smut. And if there's anything the Weinstein Company learned two years ago in their failed efforts to market Zack and Miri Make a Porno, it was never to send a fake porn flick to do a real porn flick's job. Hence (I think) the new viral Web site Wild Wild Girls, a prohibitively NSFW exercise on behalf of Piranha 3-D. Did I mention it's NSFW?

This thing's got more tits than a bra shop and might just be the copyright-infringing gold mine that squares Girls Gone Wild impresario Joe Francis up with the IRS by the end of the week. In any case, The Weinsteins' genre sister Dimension Films has really outdone itself with the sleaze, introducing the character Derrick (Jerry O'Connell) as a prurient "superstar of the Internet technology boom":

Derrick entered the film industry with his probing documentaries on the sexual exploits of youth. Combining his talents, he started the wildly popular entertainment mega company Wild Wild Girls. [...]

Now Derrick travels the world in search of the hottest, wildest and most provocative girls willing to share it all. His lavish lifestyle is the envy of every man--Babes, boobs, beer and butts. He gets up close--really close--to the wild swingers featured in the DVDs.

Surely at least a few of these comely coeds will wind up devoured by Piranha's titular (ahem) predators; take your picks at the link. Unless you're a gay man or a straight woman, in which case I don't know what to tell you. Evidently you're not the market for campy American horror remakes. Also: If TWC investor Mark Cuban raised a stink about the brothers' mishandling of The Road, then I can't wait to hear what he thinks about this capital outlay.

That maybe someday there will be horror movies with wet boxer shorts contests and stuff? Anyway all I'm going to say is that person on the right in that picture definitely looks.. a little bit like a guy with boobs. M to F?

  • HwoodHills says:

Surrounded by hot, naked women, here's hoping O'Connell reprises the line: "You guys wanna go see a dead body?"

  • "M to F?" I think a few minutes getting to know her on the Web site will likely disabuse you of that notion.

  • NP says:

I'll do that investigating when not at the office!

  • The Winchester says:

This doesn't make up for Nine.
    But it's a start.

  • NP says:

Okay I take it back. That's just a _very_ unflattering angle for her face.

  • Old No.7 says:

Thank the Sweet Baby Jesus that the Weinsteins didn't have anything to do with Human Centipede.

  • Martini Shark says:

Oh sure, this they don't convert to 3-D!

  • casting couch says:

    Michael Bay's new home page.

  • Wulf says:

If they want this site to work, they need to make it original and not like the other umpteen billion porn sites out there.

I've never understood the penises-to-breasts analog, to be honest. It's this weird apples and oranges thing that some women -- and the occasional man -- do to try to make the claim that only women are objectified in film and not men (or teenaged boys -- ask Taylor Lautner).
That said, I think dicks are hilarious, and would relish the chance to see more of them in movies. And I'm all for men being objectified. Just, for chrissakes, come up with a more compelling and on-topic argument.

  • What are you talking about ???!!! I'd tell you to study my site but I'm not guaranteed you'd be able to examine it???!! arrrrggghhhhhh!!!!

The penises-to-breasts analog is pretty simple actually. Straight dudes (and lesbians) like to see a chick's breasts. Straight women and gay dudes like to see a hot dick.
Also, I wouldn't say that only women are objectified in film, but I do it's telling that male nudity is generally treated much differently (read: more harshly) than female nudity by film censors. I'm referring to full frontal nudity here, btw.
