The Real Housewives of New York City Reality Check: 'Dueling Labor Day Parties'

FAKE: Jill Had No Idea that Ramona Would "Go Off Like That" on LuAnn

The biggest drama in last night's episode (that first manifested itself in last week's premiere) involved Ramona's husband and LuAnn. You see, at one point, LuAnn was married to a count, earning her the title "Countess." LuAnn divorced her husband recently (the details are still fuzzy), but during a photo shoot, Ramona's husband called her "Countless" under his breath. Get it? Because she isn't married to a count anymore?

Anyway, "Countless" LuAnn has been demanding an apology for two straight weeks, splitting the housewives into factions. When LuAnn's ally Jill (the one who sounds like Joy Behar) visited her Hamptons house over Labor Day weekend, Jill Behar decided to resolve the conflict like the world's great peacemakers before her have: By calling Ramona on speakerphone and allowing "Countless" LuAnn to secretly listen in.

As Ramona began to rail on "Countless" LuAnn, accusing her of being a slut and a horrific human being, Jill Behar secretly savored the moment. After all, she was still talking to both factions of the housewives. Shortly after the call though, Jill Behar tried to remain diplomatic to "Countless" Luann, saying, "If I had known that Ramona was going to react like that, I never would have put her on speaker phone. What was I thinking?"

Hey Jill, it's Movieline. You were thinking, "Here is an opportunity for conflict and my producer just fed me lines for this phone call. A PA dialed Ramona's number after making sure that the phone was on "speaker" mode." You had to repeat the phone call twice because your mic wasn't on the first time. Next time, save it.
