The One-Page Screenplay: Rian Johnson's The Plains of Rothinian
35-year-old Rian Johnson exploded onto the indie film scene in 2005 with his feature debut, Brick -- a captivating noir that both honored the form and subverted it by setting the mystery at a suburban California high school.
Brick's critical and commercial success opened doors for Johnson. His second feature, an idiosyncratic family heist movie called The Brothers Bloom, brought him a budget that could have paid for 40 Bricks and what can only be described as a dream cast, including Mark Ruffalo, Adrien Brody, Rachel Weisz, Robbie Coltrane, and Rinko Kikuchi. It opens this Friday, May 15th, in L.A. and New York.
We now proudly present Johnson's contribution to our ongoing One-Page Screenplay series, The Plains of Rothinian:

HAHAHAHAHAA!!!
Wondered if he was gonna pull it out.
Great.
I do like a good one page Sunday Comic Strip joke. If only he had made the King Hagar the Horrible...
Not bad, kid.
Not bad.
Nice. Short and sweet. Like my hog.
Loved it.
Hilarious
Can't believe it, Lady Gaga got eight VMA awards this year. I'm extremely happy for her achievements and I like the Born This Way song GaGa sang too.
