There Are No Words

And so another week ends at Movieline, where your tireless staff actually does feel like, maybe a bit tired? Maybe a bit ready to leave you with the highlights of our recent coverage before slipping into a vegetative Olympic coma? Hope you enjoy your break as well -- we'll see you back here Monday!

· Movieline's casting department was busy with Captain America, the Vancouver Winter Olympics, and searching the best of the best talent among music videos starring celebrities.

· It was a big week for 3D, including health scares, Avatar kudos and a fight that Disney won (obviously).

· Many thanks to our charming and lovely interviewees, including William Hurt, Maria Bello, Ciarán Hinds, Moment of Truth subject Don Argott and Verge designee Eddie Redmayne.

· Andrew Koenig. RIP.

· Was Mariska Hargitay and Kathy Griffin's lesbian kiss among the 50 things Oprah Winfrey wanted to cover before she signs off? Because it really probably should have been.

· American Idol suckdom didn't discriminate between the boys and the girls.

· A busy week in Two-Minute Verdicts featured trailers for A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Karate Kid and Showgirls: The Return. And another video entirely suggested My Little Pony might not be far behind. Let's hope.

· Scandals! Scandals! Jane Campion and Jeff Bridges had their share.

· Lost got the hot seat again.

· For the record, the Golden Age of Blockbuster Trash does not mean Mickey Rourke. At least not yet.

  • Liz Lemonazi says:

Oh, get some sleep, S.T. And thanks, Movieline for representing with the pic of John Park from Idol. We sang a cappella together in college. And not in that lame ass Glee way, or lame Glee ass way, what have you. Back in the old days when a cappella was sacred. I'm drunk. Good night.

  • Aw, Liz! Thanks, I'm well-rested now. Happy to represent with anyone who'll get us back to the halcyon days of a cappella. Surely there must be a more influential mascot than Mr. Park, though?
