PHOTOS: Captain EO Returns to Earth
With all the Disney 3D movie news today, it seems somehow fitting that we should cap things off with a report from Disneyland, where Michael Jackson's sci fi thrill ride -- now called the Captain EO Tribute -- today made its historic return. According to a dispatch from Movieline's special correspondent on Bedazzled Spacesuits and Laser-Accompanied Moonwalking, the "glasses are yellow. No lasers. No smoke. Lots of floor shaking. Best morning ever." Sounds to us like a success! Pictured above, a photo of the first public EO Tribute audience ever. These EO superfans are to be applauded. Click on for more photos and commentary!
"When I die, I want there to be Battle Noises and a Loud Musical Soundtrack installed on my grave stone."
"The tribute part still makes me laugh."
"We've come a long way into the future with flat panel screens. The opening show looks so dated in old 4:3 aspect ratio."

"This attraction may be frightening for children."
Why not try some complementary Jesus Juice for the kiddies at the concession stand?
Why is there a triangle with the color pink running through it in the new logo?
(Were the Imagineers being clever?)
"Supervise children at all times"
Ahh, how different things might have turned out had this warning been posted in-front of Neverland Ranch.....
That being said> I don't think Jackson was guilty. BUT, if the children had been constantly supervised by either their parents or adults other than Jackson there never would have been any cause for suspicion.
These jokey comments are probably not meant maliciously, so I wonder why I find them so sad. His talent aside, Michael Jackson was a dedicated humanitarian who, unfortunately, was never able to shake off the stigma of being falsely accused - despite being vindicated in a court and being accused by people whose testimony was clearly compromised.
It's an incredible story by anyone's standards, not least because of the sheer magnitude of the suffering this man endured.
I feel for his children. They clearly adored their father.
But they're not bringing back Magic Journeys? For shame, Disney.
