· Zac Efron is the latest beneficiary of a production deal from Warner Bros., which means... pretty much nothing at this point. The young star helped propel Hairspray and 17 Again to blockbusterdom for New Line in the last few years; Warners has been attempting to develop a Jonny Quest franchise with Efron since at least 2008. At this rate, Efron can eventually nab a few points producing that one for Taylor Lautner. [Variety]

An even more accomplished performer sets up a deal at Warners, some inspired casting rumors take flight, and more Hollywood Ink after the jump.

· After doing his studio proud-ish with this year's Golden! Globe! for Best Actor - Comedy!, Robert Downey Jr. and wife/power-producer Susan Downey are also close to setting up a first-look deal at Warner Bros. [Variety]

· Warner Bros. again? Kind of: After locking Ben Affleck and Matt Damon into a first-look deal of their own this week, the studio is now reportedly in negotiations to direct and possibly star in The Trade, a film about New York Yankees players who swapped wives in the '70s. In a shocking development, Affleck himself -- a Red Sox fan! For shame! -- might portray one of the Yankees swingers. For maximum verisimilitude, Jennifer Garner and a dolphin may also co-star as part of a quintessentially WME package deal. [Deadline]

· Rihanna is supposedly on the "short list" to appear as the lead in the planned remake of The Last Dragon. Not to be outdone, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy is apparently in the running for Woody Allen's upcoming, untitled project -- opposite Owen Wilson. [EW, THR]

· If you bet on the 30-year-old Atari game Missile Command as one of the coveted properties sought by ex-Fox chief Peter Chernin, then hey! Step forward and collect your billions! [LAT]

· Just for the record: MGM's creditors haven't forgotten about the $3.7 billion they're owed. Aaaaaaaanyday now, folks. [THR]
