Witch Executed

Lionsgate quietly yanked the Nicolas Cage action-fantasy Season of the Witch from its March 19 opening over the weekend, declining to announce a new release date or any explanation for the delay. It's probably safe to assume you'll get a DVD shelf date for this before anything for theatrical, but one thing is for sure: The 'Gate isn't taking an extra few weeks to convert the film to 3-D. So save your nasty e-mails, Jeff Katzenberg. [Variety]

While I know Nic Cage can be in a flick of dubious qulaity, I think something with a different storyline scares not only suits but audiences. I doubt this was ever a #1 big Box smash. Gee, lets have more infantile hack romances from Gary Marshall & more dumb ass Tyler Perry. Nothing historically later than the advent of cell phones, since apparently most writers & B actors can't do scenes w/o one. . ..

Turns out they discovered this film weighed the same as a duck.
