Late Night Highlights: Remembering the Simpler Times With Willie Mays, Dick Cavett and El Kutch
After silently burying the Jay Leno Show, NBC pulled another Tonight Show legend on deck Wednesday to temporarily fill the gaping holes in its after hours line-up. Dick Cavett, who wrote for the show during both Jack Paar and Johnny Carson's terms, joined Jimmy Fallon last night over shag carpet to recall that famous Jayne Mansfield line he wrote and the time he literally bored a guest to death. While Oscar nominees and the super size cast of Valentine's Day have been hogging most of the talk show circuit, Claire Danes squirmed her way onto the Colbert Report to discuss her latest Emmy-bait, HBO's Temple Grandin.
