Movieline Remembers 9 Classic Jay Leno Show Moments

2. Jimmy Kimmel's Late Crime

Never before has one late night host so viciously attacked a colleague -- on the latter's own show -- via satellite. Relive the sucker punch here.

1. Jay Leno, the Master

Amazingly, Jay Leno hit his peak last month -- without guests, random Carrot Top cameos or gimmicky "Earn Your Plug" segments -- when addressing the ConanGate disaster. If we remember Jay Leno as anything during his five-month primetime stint, it should be as a master communicator bogged down by expensive sets and network controversy. Hopefully the late night statesman seen below will be returning to the Tonight Show in March.

Geez, those are the nine best clips from the show? If anyone needed more proof that Leno is not funny here it is in all it's glory. The man is to comedy what muzak is to music.

  • HwoodHills says:

2 months from now this will all be forgotten.
But 8 months from now? (If Conan has a new show launch...?)
    Back to the mill.
PLEASE remember that the life expectancy of an entertainment news story is roughly 30 days long.
(Unless, of course, it involves a gerbil.)

  • Bobby says:

Leno is funnier then Letterman we can mostly agree on that right?
The question is which one is funnier Leno or Conan. I think Leno has a better opening. And Conan has better skits then.

    Booooring!
