TV Bites: Mo'Nique and Shaq Jam For Showtime
· Oscar-nominee, talk show queen and fake orgasm virtuoso Mo'Nique has signed on to emcee Shaquille O'Neal Presents: All-Star Comedy Jam for Showtime. The star-packed comedy special will be taped in Dallas the night before the Feb. 14 NBA All-Star Game and will co-star fellow comics George Willborn, Mike Epps and Paul Mooney. The event will be produced by Codeblack Entertainment, Shaq Entertainment and AEG Live. Acknowledged Codeblack CEO Jeff Clanagan, "It's a testament to the strength of the All-Star Comedy Jam franchise that Codeblack and AEG Live locked in a comedienne as talented as Mo'Nique." · Scrubs star Sarah Chalke has signed on to star in ABC's Freshmen, about three freshmen members of Congress who live together in D.C. Chalke will play the beautiful, smart, funny roommate who was the VP of a multi-billion dollar company in her late 20s, but of course, is a disaster at love. Greg Malins (How I Met Your Mother) penned the script and is executive-producing with Arianna Huffington. [Reuters]
· Pamela Anderson has signed on for the next season of ABC's Dancing With the Stars, according to Radar Online. ABC will officially announce its contestants on March 1. [Radar]
· Gary Cole will star in Uncle Nigel, the first hour-long comedy pilot on TBS. From Monk creator Andy Breckman, the series centers on a veteran Philadelphia homicide detective who takes on an his incompetent nephew as partner. [THR]
· HBO has already picked up Big Love for a fifth season. [THR]
· NBC, ABC and Fox are not even trying to compete with the Super Bowl on Sunday. All three networks will air repeats. [THR]
