Hollywood Ink: Rhapsody in Quinto
· Zachary Quinto is said to top the list of candidates to play George Gershwin in a forthcoming biopic of the composer; upping the stakes is the likelihood that Steven Spielberg may make the untitled film his next project. It would be the first film produced by DreamWorks under its new arrangement with Disney, and could possibly shoot as soon as April if everything is in order. Meanwhile Quinto will prepare with an accent and dialect coach, which is probably enough to land him on the Oscar 2011 forecast for the obsessives who keep track of these kinds of things. [Deadline]
Ginnifer Goodwin borrows herself into a love triangle, Salma Hayek goes Faster no more, and more Hollywood Ink after the jump.
· Ginnifer Goodwin is near a deal to star in the sudsy drama Something Borrowed, in which she would play a successful attorney who gets trashed on her 30th birthday and has an affair with her best friend's fiance. Who doesn't know the feeling? Hilary Swank is co-producing; shooting is on track to begin this spring. [Variety]
· So, um, yeah: That whole thing about Salma Hayek starring in that thriller Faster with Dwayne Johnson? Not happening. I'd love to say they had a spectacular falling out over creative differences, but alas, it was just a scheduling conflict. [Deadline]
· Sony Classics may yet have its imprimatur on every Foreign-Language Oscar nominee; the art-house distributor picked up the Dutch awards entry Winter in Wartime's U.S. rights over the weekend. That makes four out of this year's nine Academy shortlisters in the SPC stable. (And counting...) [Variety]
· Speaking of SPC, Twilight freaks Kristen Stewart fans have reportedly descended on that and other indie distributors, urging them to acquire and release the modestly reviewed K-Stew-as-a-hooker vehicle Welcome to the Rileys. Still no significant bites on the drama (which co-stars James Gandolfini and Melissa Leo), but expect some poor, deluged buyer to make a deal soon. [Deadline]

Zach Quinto always looks so shocked in his pictures. Is he worried we'll realize he's gayer than a goose? If so, he shouldn't; we know.
WOW! That would be fantastic. I love Zachary Quinto. Spielberg is a smart man. He knows talent when he sees it.
What a wonderful idea. I love Gershwin's music, especially "Summertime" from Porgy and Bess. His life was really interesting and groundbreaking. Probably the first artist to bring African American music and actors into mainstream culture and theater. When Fantasia sang "Summertime" on American Idol, I was moved to tears. It was that good.
Quinto is so talented and, of course, Spielberg is pretty talented himself 🙂
I hope this is true. I would definately go see it. I hope it has a good companion album.

Wonderful! Spielberg, Gershwin and Quinto sound (pun intended)great to me!
How the fuck is your comment relevant? There needs to be a nationwide discussion that will finally resolve the ignorance and the backwards cultural attitudes still lurking in some slices of society.
He's just jealous.
Nice post. Thanks
