Zombieland Director Ruben Fleischer: My Fave Five for 2009

Eastbound and Down

"Kenny fucking Powers. Jody Hill, Danny McBride, and Ben Best created what might be one of my favorite television shows of all time. I love the lead character, as well as the supporting cast, made of some lesser-known, but amazingly talented actors. I find KP to be sympathetic despite being the world's biggest asshole. The tone is so hard to achieve, but they have done an excellent job, and the show pushes the boundaries on what is acceptable behavior on television."

Please Ruben, don't take directing tips from James Cameron. Your movie had a story and characters and originality. Please, don't go all AVATAR on us.

Gosh, Movieline, was it really so hard to include a list of five movies on one page? This has to be one of the worst internet trends of the last year, though your hardly the worst offender. As for this list, thanks but no thanks, M.L.

Piranha Part Two: The Spawning was Oscar-worthy compared to Zombieland.

And ZOMBIELAND's Oscar-worthy compared to AVATAR. Great CGI doesn't make a great movie. It makes great CGI.
