Leona Lewis' I See You Vs. Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On: Battle of the James Cameron Love Themes

CRITERIA 3: VOCAL QUALITY AS COMPARED TO SPREADABLE FOODSTUFF

"I See You"

Cream cheese.

"My Heart Will Go On"

Whipped butter (room temperature).

CRITERIA 4: THEMATIC ADHERENCE TO JAMES CAMERON PLOT

"I See You"

Moderate. Avatar process is kind of like dream-state; crippled Marine and his Na'vi love interest therefore exist in a sort of "dream" from which she hopes he never awakes.

"My Heart Will Go On"

Moderate. Lack of nautical or water references; no metaphors comparing doomed young love to sinking luxury liner. Central theme of enduring love fairly applicable.

CRITERIA 4: HIT POTENTIAL

"I See You"

Moderate.

"My Heart Will Go On"

Huge.

FINAL FINDINGS

Lightning has failed to strike twice. Leona will have to keep searching for the signature ballad she'll close 948 consecutive performances with at Caesar's Palace starting June of 2027.

I can't understand why they didn't go with this:
Yo listen up here's a story
About a little guy that lives in a blue world
And all day and all night and everything he sees
Is just blue like him inside and outside
Blue his house with a blue little window
    And a blue corvette
And everything is blue for him and hisself
    And everybody around
Cos he ain't got nobody to listen to
I'm blue da ba dee da ba die...
I have a blue house with a blue window.
Blue is the colour of all that I wear.
Blue are the streets and all the trees are too.
I have a girlfriend and she is so blue.
Blue are the people here that walk around,
Blue like my corvette, it's standing outside.
Blue are the words I say and what I think.
Blue are the feelings that live inside me.
I'm blue da ba dee da ba die...

So long as it plays at all the proms I attend next spring, I'm a happy man.

Umm, she already has a "signature ballad." The problem with your debut single being "Bleeding Love" is that your entire career is downhill from there. It is overplayed, to be sure, but that song is as classic as a modern pop ballad can be.
Good luck to Ms. Lewis, whose career is basically over.

no contest. My Heart Will Go On is epic.
no matter how many times you listen to it, this new song does not have a catchy tune. you can't even hum it.

Celine Dion song is a masterpiece , she is the best singer I think

Every time I listen to it I think its going to be the Titanic them tune and then it doesn't hit those high notes and simply goes on. Because of its similarity I think it just causes the wrong effect. Its not a bad song, its just poorly placed.
For me this theme tune is actually a bad choice for the ending credits, simply because it doesn't meld with the other scores in the film. It feels like James Cameron wanted a ending credit that had the strength of the Titanic's, but instead just didn't think of the context of the song style.
For me, its like taking Star Wars and and then throwing in the Titanic title track at the end.

The American government is opting for the wrong choice by redacting the officer's book. This will just damage Americans' trust in the Department of Defense and I am sure that the original copy of the book will get leaked anyways.
