Trauma Canceled

trauma_axed.jpg

If there's one disaster the Trauma team won't be able to recover from, it's the show's ratings underperformance. The Monday night series has just been canceled, making it NBC's first official fall termination (that is, if you don't count the network snuffing Southland in its crib). The expensive show never pulled in ratings to match its cost, and NBC has Chuck waiting in the wings to take its place. Sorry, guys! At least your outdoor ad campaign was kind of cool. [THR]

I can explain this: the show was awful. I tried to watch the first episode on a rerun on Bravo, and only got through the first ten minutes.

  • yvonne says:

WOW! I liked the show. The ambulance driver just came out the closet. It had some juicy parts, too.

  • Jason says:

When I saw the previews in which the moronic helicopter pilot who deems himself indestructable is smashing his classic car into other cars, I said forget it not worth a look.

  • anonymous says:

I work EMS and one night we sat and watched it while we were also on Facebook and spent an enjoyable hour laughing at how moronic the depiction was about our business. Oh well, there goes our fun!

  • Marisol says:

Chalk another one up to Jeff Zucker's brilliant vision for NBC. Please remind me why this guy still has a job.

  • stolidog says:

The trauma scenes could be cool at times, while the drama and story lines in between the trauma made your brain bleed.
I will say, that the "green" EMS guy that worked with the atrocious blond woman was HOT, in a junior McSteamy kind of way. I hope he pops up in something a bit more interesting to watch.

  • Girl86 says:

The hot EMS guy's name is Taylor Kinney, and aside from one failed "My Network" telenovela, he hasn't been in anything notable. Let's hope that the 13 episodes were enough to give him some recognition (in order that we can have some more material to drool over).

hate to see this comedy go. it's great...if you pretend that you're from the rural midwest and every time disaster strikes say out loud, "man, San Francisco's dangerous." sometimes you gotta dig deep for your entertainment.
The manic swings between the action seqs and the plot dev, gave me nose bleeds. Still, it's regrettable that we won't be treated to an earthquake episode...sigh,

You cannot put a new show up against MNF and expect to have any type of success. This show is great - put it on another nite!!!
Nothing beats MNF - hasn't for almost 20 years!!!!

  • Patricia Vasenius says:

I can't believe this show is being cancelled!!! I really like this show & already has some good characters!!! I have enjoyed every episode so far!!!! I agree, I love football (MNF) but record this on the DVR to watch later so maybe Monday is a bad night so change it to another night & give it a chance!!! I don't like very many shows on the main networks so when I do like one, I hate to see it yanked off so soon!!! Most other show are moronic so it goes to show you that you have to have some neurons to rub together to enjoy a good show!!!!

  • janessa says:

I was drawn to the show because of Cliff Curtis (Rabbit) - I've loved him ever since he did Three Kings way back and it was awesome to see him get a juicy part on network primtetime. I was not disappointed: the character was interesting and fun to watch. 6 episodes have aired and they got better each week, with the latest one (Home Court) being a great one.
I HATE NBC - they canceled Life (a show I was totally addicted to), Kings, and now this. Instead we get to watch Leno 5 nights a week - make that YOU get to b/c NBC is DEAD to me.

  • Paxton says:

I love this show!!! it sucks that it is getting canceled! first was "Defying Gravity" now its "Trauma" 🙁 It totally sucks! this show makes me want to think of a career as an EMT after college. Please dont cancel it!

  • Luscious says:

Trauma is a great show. I've watched it every week and I especially enjoy Cliff Curtis' character - I'm a fellow kiwi. NBC should have been privileged to get a film actor with his resume/ability on board. Unfortunately, NBC also has a notorious history of axing shows prematurely, placing the blame on ratings. Funny they never once came to my house interested in knowing what I watch, or want to watch.

  • Cassandra says:

i love this show and am so disappointed to see it go. I look forward to watching this show weekly. thought for sure it would survive

  • force#1 says:

I HATE THAT THE SHOW HAS BEEN CANCELLED. I HAVE 2 FAVORITE SHOWS AND THIS WAS NUMBER 1. I WILL JUST HAVE TO TRY AND FIND SOMETHING ON ANOTHER CHANNEL.
YOU DIDN'T GIVE IT CHANCE, ESPECIALLY AGAINST FOOTBALL.
I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED. JUST NOT RIGHT.
    EVERYONE WAS INTERESTING.

  • JimmyS says:

I have to say, the first two episodes started a little slow, but now I'm really getting into the plot and the storyline. The action blends really good with the drama and I can't believe they've decided to cut it this early on! People that say they don't like it have only seen one episode... you have to give it a little while.
Please, move the night on this one, away from MNF. Or better yet, axe Leno already... & even if you "geniuses" at NBC decide to still cut Trauma, please CUT, KILL, and BURY Leno anyway.

  • Tim says:

Well, once again NBC has shot themselves in the foot by the cancellation of Trauma. Looks like their programming department is suffering from brain trauma.......again!!

  • Brent says:

Can't believe this got canned. Anastasia Griffith is a sexy beautiful talented actress. As well as Cliff Curtis and his reliable cocky comedy. NBC got this one wrong. I hope fx or someone picks it up, put it before or after rescue me. NBC- YOU SUCK!!

  • Joe says:

I love this show and look forward to Monday nights because of Trauma. Like others say it was a little rough at its break but has definitely picked up and its quite the show now...but that can go the same for any show. NBC is horrible for canceling this one. Trauma sated my interest in the EMS field and is just getting juicy!
I never really watched Chuck and it seems popular...but NBC can't just move Trauma to another time-slot???...I'm sure there's room on Friday night. Keep it going! I'll even get a DVR if it's moved to Friday.

  • John says:

What a shame. Sure, it might not be totally realistic, but it is the only NBC show (other than the L&O series)that has likeable characters.

  • Katie says:

Canceling TRAUMA was a very horrible decision. Chuck and the other shows like that are stupid but not trauma. That was the best show ever and NBC took it off. That is what I looked forward to watch this every monday night. Now I wont be watching any of the other stupid shows. Expecially Chuck and Leno.

  • jen says:

totally sad about this show being cancelled. i really enjoyed watching it...

  • DEBI says:

OMG ! I AM SO DISSAPOINTED THAT TRAUMA IS OFF THE AIR. I LOOKED SO FORWARD TO WATCHING IT ON MONDAY NIGHTS. SHAME ON YOU NBC!!!

  • michele mclaughlin says:

I do not watch alot of TV at all... but I could not wait for Trauma every week. It is or should say was the most exciting drama ever along with an awesome cast! Instead of just cancelling a show maybe trying a different day of the week would help!!! You had it up against football and other popular shows. Very very disapointed and so is my husband

  • WHITNEY says:

TRAUMA WAS MY FAVORITE SHOW!! I AM SO MAD THAT I HAVE BEEN WAITING EVERY MONDAY, CHECKING MY DVR, AND FOR NOTHING!! IT'S GONE?? REALLY??!! THIS BLOWS MY MIND. I'VE LOVED EVERY EPISODE, AND FINALLY, FINALLY NANCY AND RABBIT.... GOD. SO MAD. SO UPSET. SCREW NBC. I HATE YOU.
