Microsoft Pulls Out of MacFarlane Variety Show, Citing Suckiness
Movieline did all it could to brief Seth MacFarlane for his variety hour debut, but the Family Guy creator is (apparently) an insubordinate pupil. Microsoft announced it is pulling out of its exclusive sponsorship deal with MacFarlane's upcoming special Family Guy Presents: Seth and Alex's Almost Live Comedy Show, declaring that the program is not a "fit" with the brand. More bitchy quibbles from Microsoft after the jump!
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Microsoft released the following statement.
"We initially chose to participate in the Seth and Alex variety show based on the audience composition and creative humor of 'Family Guy,' but after reviewing an early version of the variety show it became clear that the content was not a fit with the Windows brand. We continue to have a good partnership with Fox, Seth MacFarlane and Alex Borstein and are working with them in other areas. We continue to believe in the value of brand integrations and partnerships between brands, media companies and talent."
They forgot to add that Seth and Alex are "nice people with big hearts" who "really do a good job when they put their minds to it." I mean, I have no reason to assume the show sucks, but -- oh, no -- who threw that incriminating video in my post? Rosie!

Yeah, because those sucky Seinfeld/Gates ad campaigns fit the Microsoft brand so much better.
They meant to send another email stating how much they were looking forward to the event but Vista screwed up and sent the joke draft a Microsoft employee sent around the office by mistake.
They're crazy. Microsoft and baby sex jokes just go hand in hand. What's the problem here?
This is worse than the time that Stewie went to Pinkberry with a wisecracking T-Rex and Tyler Perry!
It's not Microsoft's fault - when they originally agreed to this deal they were ill with a virus.
