2012: Supernova Just One Adam Lambert Power Ballad Away From Total Ripoff
If you can't wait until the Emmerichian disasterpiece 2012 arrives in theaters next month, then it's your lucky day. Rather, Oct. 27 is your lucky day, because that's when the good people at The Asylum -- those geniuses who brought you Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus -- unveil their schlocky new grab-your-family-and-flee-the-apocalypse knockoff 2012: Supernova on DVD. Click through for the trailer.
A cursory bit of research implies that the 2012 prefix was only added to Supernova at some point along the post-production line; after all, The Asylum had already released 2012 Doomsday last year. But after viewing the tone-deaf hysteria of the trailer below -- some of which actually portends better acting than the John Cusack/Amanda Peet/Woody Harrelson-led ensemble of Roland Emmerich's film -- it's pretty clear which big-budget tentpole inspired the filmmakers.
Like Mega Shark, I wouldn't have believed it if it weren't already available for sale. Throw a Danny Gokey love theme for maximum Z-grade verisimilitude, and maybe you've got the sleeper hit of the fall.

Meh!!! 2012 Supernova is such a B movie. I won't watch it!
I WOULD RATHER WAIT FOR Roland Emmerich’s 2012 and Adam Lambert's Time For Miracles. As a sci-fi fanatic, this is the movie for me. LOL!! Roland E. and Adam L. Rocks!!!
If we can somehow combine Mega Shark biting the space shuttle, my life will be complete.
Also, why do I feel I was watching an outtake from "SmokeJumpers" with Brian Krause's dialogue?
Wow, where is you sense of adventure and fantasy. You must be a stone cold person
Nothing like a really well done disater movie to make you grateful for your life. I think they serve a noble purpose now and then and I love Adam's music video so the real 2012 flick for me thanks!!
im stoned, and i hate this movie...
I have seen this movie, and it is really bad. Incredible bad in fact. As in "One of the worst movies" ever bad. The acting is awful - sometimes bad enough to be actual funny. Mostly just bad. The plot is non-existing, the dialogue often makes no sense, things are out-of-sync (fx. people jumping away from a lightning seconds before it strikes), the physics is wrong (fx. people that are supposedly very clever seem to think that a Faraday cage cannot have holes, explosions in space, and such). I skipped to the ending about halfway though. Watching paint dry is more interesting that this movie.
This just seems like another "The Room" type film where it actually has the potential to be turned around to be deemed as a black comedy. The acting is terrible, the plotline really is non-existent and every character is 100% cliched.
bloody awful. If you watch this movie, treat it as a black comedy otherwise you're wasting your time
