Halle and Marc, Stop Reading Now
· The NYT just put up its amaaaazing new profile of Precious director Lee Daniels, and while writer Lynn Hirschberg provides a couple weirdo passages (I particularly enjoyed her random reference to "a white actor named Wes Bentley"), this is the Lee Daniels show, and it's glorious. Go read it, but enjoy this little preview: "After producing two films, Daniels quickly became frustrated with not having complete control of his movies. 'I kind of co-directed Monster's Ball,' Daniels told me as he ordered another drink (the actual director was Marc Forster). 'I gave Halle her line readings. I knew how to do that: you tap into people's souls.'"
· "People wanna say, 'Oh, this is the end of dramas!' but who would've thought that you could walk around with all those shows on your iPhone," Anthony Edwards told PopEater while defending NBC's Leno-led decimation of scripted shows. "You might say there's more opportunity for good drama now then when ER was on." As long as they've got ha-has!
· Jon Gosselin's reps attempted to sell his co-hosting services for a radio show by touting how "funny, sharp witted and interesting" the reality show wallflower is. There's a first time for everything?
· Quentin Tarantino loved Bright Star so much that he wrote director Jane Campion a gushy love note: "My favorite film of yours. I don't like period pieces like that. I loved this!!! Never has heartache been so realistically and movingly portrayed as Abbie taking to her bed ... The lovers kisses ... Abbie and Ben ... touching ... Brilliant. I loved it!!! Love - Your fan - Quentin Tarantino."

that nyt profile was a doozy. i still can't wrap around my head that mo'nique was an inspiration to helen mirren.
I liked the line about Mariah: "She would throw herself under the train for you, as long as her hair was perfect.”
