Meet Dewet Du Toit: The Man Who Would Be Tarzan
· An inspiring e-mail from one "Dewet Du Toit" slid over the Movieline transom earlier today, introducing us to a "HIGHLY SELF MOTIVATED 22−YEAR OLD BODYBUILDER / ACTOR" who believes he has what it takes to earn the lead role in Stephen Sommers' forthcoming Tarzan adaptation. Everything, that is, but entrée into Hollywood and discriminating use of his computer's "caps lock" key. "I HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP ME WITH THE CONTACT DETAILS OF THIS PRODUCTION [...] I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT THE WILL TO WIN IS MORE CRUCIAL THAN THE SKILL TO WIN." Of course you can hear him, Stephen -- but are you listening?
· Among the many perks of being in the current Broadway cast of Bye Bye Birdie with John Stamos and Gina Gershon: The promise of a Stamos-hosted Showgirls party with Gershon herself in attendance.
· The ridiculous Hollywood anti-smoking lobby is back, crying to anyone who will listen that it couldn't buy billboards in L.A. to demonize Will Ferrell's pipe-smoking in the PG-rated Land of the Lost. Memo to the American Medical Association Alliance: Nobody effing saw Land of the Lost. You'd be doing Universal a favor. Make yourself useful and pass me my matches.
· The filmmaker who filed a $5 million lawsuit accusing Chris Rock of lifting the idea that became Good Hair smashed into a judicial brick wall today.
· And while it arrived a little too late for Movieline's Ladies Halloween Costume Guide, you have to admit that Kim Zolciak's self-effacing entrepreneurial whimsy from The Dish give Mariah's mustache a run for its money:

I say Movieline bring Mr. De Toit in for a "screen test." With a gag in his mouth, of course.
Me Tarzan, You Caps Lock.
I see potential in this. Get me a thousand monkeys for rewrites.
Now here's an actor to lead a tentpole if ever there was one.
OK nice to see- interesting comments are always helpful! Blessings.
Mind if I use some of the information from this post if I provide a link back to your site?
He definately looks the part. I'd love to see a new Tarzan movie. I hope his dream comes true. Dewet Du Toit looks great in a loin-cloth.
I wish you all of the best in your endeavours DeWet. I will always remember these words:"The will to win is more crucial than the skills to win." With that attitude, you can overcome anything. You are defnitely the best man for the job.
He might want to change his name else He'll be taken for a porn star...the wet de twat sounds really fancy!!
