What's On: Just One Lesbian Ratings Ploy Kiss?

While NBC's PR team has been working overtime to hype the Heroes girl-on-girl kiss tonight, Hayden Panettiere has been claiming credit for the sexually adventurous storyline: "They [the writing team] put you in relationships and I was like, 'Can I just be with a girl or something...? Let's do that." Regardless of who pulled the trigger on the girl-on-girl arc, we hope that Claire's kiss with her roommate Gretchen (Californication's Madeline Zima) can revive the show's ratings, which fell to a series low last week.

Heroes [8 PM, NBC]

In tonight's hotly anticipated episode, "Hysterical Blindness," Claire (Panettiere) explores her sexuality after discovering Gretchen's (Zima) hidden agenda. Meanwhile, Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) connects with the elusive Emma (Deanne Bray) and Sylar (Zachary Quinto) struggles to remember the person he used to be. If tonight's kiss doesn't improve ratings, expect NBC to consider a teen orgy plot for a headline-grabbing rating boost.

Gone Too Far [10 PM, MTV]

The documentary series that almost never saw the light of day premieres tonight. In the first of eight episodes, recently passed DJ AM (aka Adam Goldstein) stages his first intervention in Philadelphia with a 23-year-old heroin addict who is reluctant to seek treatment.

The Rachel Zoe Project [10 PM, Bravo]

Grab your shot glasses for the Rachel Zoe drinking game to commemorate tonight's second season finale. One shot every time the mega-stressed stylist says "I die," "Bananas" or "I'm coming undone." Two shots each time Brad cries. Tonight's season closer will be a doozy, with a stressful high-end fashion shoot, the launch of Zoe's brand, and Taylor threatening to leave Camp Zoe for the 1,425th time. Meanwhile, the pressure triggers a relapse in Zoe's vertigo.

Never Been Kissed [9 PM, E!]

This 1999 film, directed by Raja Gosnell, showcases Drew Barrymore's finest career work in the twenty-five years between E.T. and Grey Gardens. As a journalist given a second chance to experience high school, Barrymore's warm and klutzy Josie Grossie falls in love with her dreamy English teacher (Michael Vartan) while befriending the cool girls, played by Marley Shelton and an early-career Jessica Alba. Still, one sad note: It's entirely possible that more people will watch tonight's broadcast than saw Whip It in theaters.
