What's On: Mo'Nique Nightly
Usually film and television stars work hard for their publicity - making the rounds at film festivals, exhausting the talk show circuit and doling out repetitive interviews, but Mo'Nique has found a loophole in the system. By refusing to promote her acclaimed performance in Precious since the Sundance Film Festival because of a few unfulfilled demands for compensation, the comedienne actress has unwittingly created her own tidal wave (or backlash) of buzz for her new BET nightly talk show, The Mo'Nique Show, to coast off of its first week.
The Mo'Nique Show [11 PM, BET]
The larger-than-life personality rings in her second show by welcoming BET regulars, Tiny and Toya, as guests on her talk show. With an in-house DJ, the actress/comedienne promises to bring the hottest party to late night and combine her "signature voice and comedy to late night television."
Sherri [10 PM, Lifetime]
Sherri Shepherd premiered her sitcom Monday and tonight, Lifetime airs its second episode. The View's co-host and Tracy Morgan's 30 Rock wife, Sherri Shepherd, plays Sherri Patterson, a single mom/part-time comedian/actress that is based on Shepherd's own life, post-divorce as she tries to re-enter the dating scene. In tonight's episode, Sherri feels defeated after losing a string of acting roles and her best friends try to boost her self-esteem. Meanwhile, Angie (Elizabeth Regen) attempts to get a breast cancer fundraiser donation from a co-worker.
Hell's Kitchen [8 PM, Fox]
With only four chefs remaining (Ariel, Heather, Dave and Kevin), the usually humorless Chef Ramsay invites British child actor impressionist Felix Light (aka Little Gordon Ramsay) into the kitchen. The night's challenge involves feeding 80 kids vegetarian dinners. Another chef is booted at the end of the episode.
Selena [9:40 PM, Encore]
Jennifer Lopez's breakout film role arrived in 1997 with Gregory Nava's biography of the beautiful Grammy Award winning recording artist whose life was tragically taken by the president of her fan club. The film remains one of the fastest produced biopics following that person's death.
