Mo'Nique Explains It All
At its New York Film Festival premiere, Mo'nique yet again refused to show up to support Precious, sparking rumors that after suffering the star's money demands, Lionsgate has quietly switched its Oscar push in the supporting category to Mariah Carey. Mo'Nique, would you care to explain? "When people say, 'You care more about money than winning an Oscar,' well, what does an Oscar mean?" she told the NYDN. "An Oscar means more work when you win it, and that means more money! I couldn't eat that Oscar. Everybody needs money, baby. That's how we survive, right?" Exactly! What? [NYDN]

Seriously? NY Daily? That's a load of bs if I have ever read. No confirmed sources...It's really starting to feel like there is a racist element to this campaign against Mo'Nigue. Other actors have declined to campaign (Sean Penn, Julie Christie) and none seem to have been met with the same virtual that is being thrown at Mo'.

Mo'nique you speak the truth, but just know that speaking the truth will get your Oscar taken away. The Academy wants ass kissing Oscar beggers, not people who are indifferent to winning.
I don't think she takes winning an Oscar seriously which is good in many respects.
And are they really going to start pushing Mariah in supporting, yesterday was the first day I heard that?
Let's not kid ourselves here. If anybody could eat that Oscar it's Mo'Nique.
