Tonight Show Shocker: Steve Zahn Reveals He's the Notorious Minnesota Chicken-Hitcher

Steve Zahn's appearance on The Tonight Show has been making the rounds this morning, with some suggesting the actor was perhaps under the influence of some home-cultivated medicinal analgesics while discussing his day-to-day farming duties back at his home in Kentucky (he talks to a horse named Dude, ignores the sheep, shovels crap -- basically all things one might also do living in L.A., only with actual animals). I don't know, I've watched it twice now -- what can I say, I'm a Zahn fan -- and he just strikes me as being the kind of guy who marches to the beat of his own hilarious sheep-bleating impressions.

I guess the anecdote about dressing in a chicken costume to go hitchhiking in Minnesota could be construed as a little out there, but aren't we all stashing our own chicken costumes in a closet somewhere, metaphorically speaking? Zahn just feels secure enough to share it with the world, instead of doing what's societally "expected" of him, and yapping on at length about his new Milla Jovovich/Timothy Olyphant horror vehicle, A Perfect Getaway -- which is probably crappy but which I'll see anyway because I like the logline ("two pairs of lovers on a Hawaiian vacation discover that psychopaths are stalking and murdering tourists on the islands"), and because it has Steve Zahn in it. He also earned bonus points for repeatedly gesturing over to couch-neighbor Heidi Klum every time another model's name came up, which was a categorical lumping I'm sure he meant nothing by, but was sort of deliciously dismissive all the same.

Yup, that's about all I have to say about Steve Zahn on The Tonight Show last night. Enjoy!

It's good to know there's career life beyond playing the token gay character in Reality Bites.

I'm a huge Steve Zahn fan. He's a really cool guy and very funny too. I watched Rescue Dawn only a few days ago, and Steve is so good in it along with another favorite actor of mine, Christian Bale. They were both amazing.
