Kristen Bell Plays 'My Favorite Scene' with Movieline

Greetings from Comic-Con, where Day One's Avatar, Tron, and New Moon panels have all finally finished and a sense of postgeekdom depression has gripped the masses. Still, there's at least one reliably perky person left in the Convention Center: delightful sprite/actress Kristen Bell! Our full interview with Miss Mars will be coming soon, but for now, enjoy this appetizer as Kristen Bell partakes in that old Movieline standby, My Favorite Scene.

Some actors are slow to pick their favorite movie moment, but not Bell. "When Chevy Chase is putting the lights up in Christmas Vacation," she immediately announced. "Nothing has ever made me happier! When he pulls the bulb out and he goes, 'Whoops, little knot here' and he hands it to his son? And then he shoots the icicle through to his neighbors and Julia Louis-Dreyfus says, 'Well why is the carpet wet, Todd?' And the actor -- I don't know his name -- goes, 'I don't know, Margot!' It's the best scene!"

At this point, her Astro Boy costar Freddie Highmore chimed in to mumble his unfamiliarity with the movie (forgive him, he's British!), forcing Bell's mouth to drop open in disbelief.

"You've not seen Christmas Vacation?" she said, then turning to me. "I'm sorry, I need to take him out back for a second."

"I'll just see that scene," he protested.

"You need to see the whole thing. It's so wonderful."

But not as wonderful as you, Kristen Bell.

That is kind of random, but pretty satisfying. They should reboot that franchise with Amy Poehler to play the Beverly D'Angelo role.

She looks lovely. Which is kind of amazing, given the fact that Comic-Con can wilt a bouquet of plastic daisies.

or they could remake this segment with Amy Poeller as Kristen Bell and Todd (Nick Guest (Chris Guest's lil bro)) can pull the cameo as Freddie Highmore. And then they can add an animated prequel for web-only with a cartoon Kristen Bell voiced by Valerie Berinelli and Freddie Highmore is a British bulldog with a heart of gold voiced by Freddie Highmore.
