COMIC-CON SHOCKER! First In Line New Moon Fans Also There for Avatar
Have the Comic-Con gender wars that threatened to tear apart the San Diego Convention Center been resolved before they even began? Make no mistake, there are still thousands of grumbling fanboys who cannot belieeeeeve that the line for Hall H is filled with Twilight fangirls who will potentially steal valuable seats for the Tron and Avatar panels just so they can attend the New Moon panel in the same auditorium. However, when I interviewed the very first people in line -- the lovely Ara and her daughter Rebecca -- I found out something very interesting (and it wasn't simply that they'd camped out two nights to secure their place in line).
"We're here for New Moon, but I've got to be honest," Ara told Movieline. "I'm excited for Disney 3D -- we're big Tim Burton fans, so Alice in Wonderland, I want to see that. And James Cameron's Avatar, we're looking forward to."
Did my ears deceive me? Was Comic-Con's most devoted New Moon fan also excited for Avatar? This was like a fan of Seth Rogen also liking Entourage, or something!
"I'm aware that there's been some hard feelings," Ara admitted. "But I hope those other Avatar fans get in as well."
Hahaha they won't.

Boy geeks are just jealous of by being outclassed in fandom by girls.
To tell the truth, I'd be there for both as well. For entirely different reasons of course. Avatar I genuinely hope will be a great film. New Moon, I'm just hoping it will be as saccharine and trashy as Twilight. Oh, and Rob Pattinson has beautiful bone structure.
I know a picture is worth 1,000 words, so here are a few this one has told me.
1.The young male fan behind Ara & Rebecca has resorted to embracing a (possible) trash receptacle for solace.
2.Ara's gastrointestinal disorder is written all over the face of the lady behind her.
3.If Rebecca didn't detest her mother before Comic Con '09, she does now.
