Iron Man 2 Bonus Villain: Mickey Rourke's Drunk Cockatoo

EW has billionaire gadabout Tony Stark on the cover of their Comic-Con preview, flanked by new frienemies Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and Kawasaki/human hybrid Whiplash, otherwise known in the discarded-Chihuahua-collecting community as Mickey Rourke. The occasion, of course, is the sequel to last summer's breakout hit Iron Man, rocketing back to screens in early May of 2010. (Bide your time over the next ten months by following director and tireless Tournament of Champions campaigner Jon Favreau's tweeted production updates.)

Rourke explained that he wanted his character to have layers, suggesting there's more to him than just a do-it-yourself supervillain bent on destroying Iron Man with ultra-cool laser bullwhip beams:

"I told Favreau, 'I don't want to just play him as a one-dimensional p---- ... He let me have a cockatoo, who I talk to and get drunk with while I'm making my suit."

For a second we thought he meant a Cockapoo, which would have made for a lesser-threating sidekick, though could have elicited fond memories of his beloved red carpet companion, Loki. But a drunk cockatoo is cool, too -- squawking menacing encouragement into his ear between greedy swigs of malt liquor from its feeder.
