Susan Sarandon, John Goodman to Visit Al Pacino's Doctor Death
· The fledgling Jack Kevorkian biopic You Don't Know Jack is turning into quite a prestige package for HBO Films: Susan Sarandon and John Goodman will join leading man Al Pacino and director Barry Levinson as a pair of Kevorkian's right-to-die allies. Sarandon's character is later assisted in her own suicide; Goodman's lab company provides the technology. Just give this its Emmys now if you think that'll speed up the broadcast in 2010. [THR]
Jason Statham returns to British B-thrillerdom, another Hollywood institution rebrands, and much more Hollywood Ink after the jump.

The film is based on a best-seller about a serial killer who targets police officers; believe it or not, Statham will portray the "tough, uncompromising cop" charged with apprehending the murderer. Keep stretching, J. [Variety]

Comments
1. For some reason, the phrase "career suicide" keeps popping into my head whenever I read about this project, and I don't know why.
2. I won't knock Statham, he has a niche, he exploits it, doesn't bore us with Oscar whoring, and he could probably beat me up.
3. The 3rd generation is the trickiest position to be in a family business, and usually when things fall apart, and I'm wishing him good luck to buck that trend.
4. I'm holding out for Checkers: The Movie.
5. I'm just happy to see Judge Reinhold working.
6. I think the mindset has more to do with getting out of LA than going to Vegas.
The only stretching Jason Statham needs to do is before the workouts to keep that sweet, sweet hunk of manmeat he calls a body in tip-top shape.
