Meet Guadalupe Zambrano: Notorious Jaysquatter
In time for July 4th, we bring you a real American hero: Guadalupe Zambrano, the domain squatter who owns thejaylenoshow.com, which currently brings you to a real estate sales page.
Zambrano registered it five years ago, perhaps anticipating some seismic shift in a struggling NBC's future programming strategy. Sadly, the U.N.'s World Intellectual Property Organization, the highest authority when it comes to hilarious cases like this, ultimately ruled against Zambrano. Get your "Fine Properties in Houston Texas" while they're hot -- before they turn into Jaywalking 2.0 clips forever.

It's okay, Guady. 6 months from now when the show's canceled (or moved to one night a week, Saturday, during the "We can't GIVE this hour away" time slot) you'll be glad you're done with it.

(Name recognition, as you've learned, is KEY!)
Well I read the article and they rule it as a common law trademark which is a fine line.
When a domain is trademarked you cannot legally own variations of it.
If it's just a copyright then 'no' you cannot take it away.
It's a fine line and I used to work with some domain registrars and we have to go through this all the time, usually the individual won since not many people or companies are big enough to have trademarks. They would cry it's copyrighted but that was tough luck, since copyrights usually are not worldwide.
They should have at least in good faith given him a few hundred bucks.
