Buffy to Slay Once More?

· Seeing as Dollhouse's renewal easily filled the annual good-news quota for Joss Whedon's beleaguered fans, no one should be too disappointed by his likely exclusion from a proposed remake/reboot of his 1992 breakthrough Buffy the Vampire Slayer. That film's director, Fran Rubel Kuzui, and her producer husband may instead look into a "darker, event-sized movie" (sorry, gang, no Angel, Willow, Xander or Spike, either!) for franchising down the line. Ideally, Buffy would dovetail with Twilight in a sort of Alien vs. Predator-style fight to the death; if you can't get excited about the prospects for Bella the Vampire Slayer, then what can you get excited about? More Hollywood Ink after the jump...

· Not to be outdone -- or actually, yes, to be quite outdone -- Disney plans a revival of its 1986 alien-abduction sci-fi adventure Flight of the Navigator. [THR]

· WME chose Memorial Day weekend to quietly dump the news that Jim Wiatt is indeed out at the new super-agency. The William Morris head was originally expected to take an active role alongside his Endeavor counterparts Ari Emanuel and Patrick Whitesell; now he's facing an "imminent" exit behind the 100 or so WMA personnel who've already filed through Ari's abattoir. His next move remains to be announced. [LAT]

· Brillstein Entertainment is developing an unscripted TV show around Twitter; early word describes a series "putting ordinary people on the trail of celebrities in a revolutionary competitive format." That's it? You've got 52 characters left -- tell us more! [Variety]

· Have you been wondering what would-be mogul Phillipe Martinez has been up to since capsizing a couple years ago with Harsh Times, I Could Never Be Your Woman, and other mishandled bombs? Oh. Well, Sharon Waxman has an update anyway. [The Wrap]

    1. Put a stake in it, it's done.
    2. Nothing like a film about a missing child to warm up family audiences.
    3. Somebody at the top had to go. It's the nature of the beast, all I can say to Wiatt is: Screw them with your golden parachute!!
    4. One thing about Twitter is that it really shows that celebrities aren't the only vacuous people on the internet. As for the show, it should last as long as a Tweet.
    5. I haven't been wondering.

A "darker" Buffy? She should watch "The Body", Willow's descent in the sixth season or pretty much all of Angel (the series) before making such silly claims...

This should never ever happen and hopefully wil never get made.
