Megan Fox Doesn't Have To Speak Words Good, Not Like That Scarlett Johansson

If Hollywood was a reality show, Scarlett Johansson would be that pretty girl on the show that all the other contestants (especially the women) are inexplicably allied against in a display of outsized vitriol that makes you mutter, "Jesus! Is she really that bad?" OK, fine, she would be Sierra from this season of Survivor. Yes, I still watch it. Anyway, our poor Scar-Jo was once the victim of an out-of-nowhere bathroom wall slander from Lindsay Lohan, and now Transformers vixen Megan Fox is piling on.

Here's Fox pulling the classic "No offense, but something offensive" gambit in Esquire this month:

"I don't want to have to be like a Scarlett Johansson - who I have nothing against," she says, "but I don't want to have to go on talk shows and pull out every single SAT word I've ever learned to prove, like, 'Take me seriously, I am intelligent, I can speak.' I don't want to have to do that. I resent having to prove that I'm not a retard - but I do. And part of it is my own fault."

This interview, surely, will not contribute to that perception.

did she really say "... every single SAT word I've every learened" (emphasis mine)?

  • Kyle Buchanan says:

I'm gonna give her the benefit of the doubt and call that a People magazine typo. Fixed.

  • nick says:

Megan Fox is pure hotness. She can say whatever she wants.

  • Colander says:

"Not that there's anything wrong with being retarded. I LOVE retards."

  • Jesse says:

I understand what she's saying. She saying it's messed up that beautiful women have to prove that they are intelligent. If may have been a little offensive to Scarlett Johansson, but it was 100% truth.

  • Eddie says:

Smart people never talk about how they have to dumb down to not seem like they're trying to be smart.
Scarlett is better on every level.

  • Stormdrane says:

Ummm, more pictures and less letters and words and stuff... 😛

  • Bren says:

Scarlet doesn't have act an idiot for anyone.
Megan doesn't have to act smart for anyone.
But people talking smack about others? People they don't even know? That's just lame.
Gosh its kinda like that Spanish saying... "if he rides the mule they criticize them for being mean to the animal. If he doesn't ride the mule others criticize him for not using him."
People are never happy. Just be your damn self and let others be.

  • ewood says:

i wonder why fox singled out scarlet... couldn't she have said "some actresses"?

  • Desk_hack says:

    Thanks for spelling that out.
    Also, Team Fox.

  • MCU says:

    Team Gravy.

  • Jesse says:

You are completely correct about what you are saying , but I don't think that applies here. Megan Fox was pointing out that most media and society in general stereotypes gorgeous women as being stupid. Scarlett Johansson apparently just tries to prove that stereotype wrong by talking all smart. I certainly don't see anything wrong with that, but Fox is just saying that she has risen above even caring about what the media thinks. She doesn't have to prove her smarts to anyone. Scarlett Johansson doesn't have to either, but she tries. Fox was right, she didn't necessarily have to offend anyone, she could have stated what she was saying in a better way without mentioning anyone specific. Nevertheless, she is exactly right.

  • Ira Madison says:

Is it wrong that while Scarlett may be smarter than Megan Fox, I think Megan Fox is a better actress than Scar Jo? Seeing Scar attempt to act in any film drives me to drink.

  • SunnydaZe says:

Megan, I think it is best to just accept you are retarded and start enjoying the perks of being so. You even have your own Olympics! What's to complain about?
