Shane West: Go West

Some actors fall in love embarrassingly easy when on set, romancing one costar after another. Shane West's career to date, however, has brought him beauties of a different sort. "I love and appreciate seeing beautiful cars," says West, star of this summer's comic-book actioner The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

As Extraordinary grown-up Secret Service agent Tom Sawyer, West drives a specially made roadster "that puts the Batmobile to shame," but he also formed a special bond with the '67 Camaro his character drove in last year's sleeper weepie A Walk to Remember. "I dug it a lot and bought it for four grand," he laughs, "which I thought was a pretty good deal. It's 'Dukes of Hazzard' orange, with a white racing stripe down the middle." West, who also owns a more reliable Lexus, is pictured here with a 1963 Chrysler Turbine at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles (currently hosting, among other exhibits, "Rolls-Royce: A Century of Elegance"; visit www.petersen.org).
