Spike Jonze Releases 26-Minute Arcade Fire Short Film Scenes from the Suburbs Online

If you're still coming down from the excitement of watching a confused Barbra Streisand announcing Arcade Fire's The Suburbs as Grammy's Album of the Year in February, you'll be equally thrilled by this news: Spike Jonze's short film Scenes from the Suburbs, a collaboration with Arcade Fire, is now online. More details follow -- including our list of other albums we'd like to see turned into movies.

Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler penned the short with his brother and bandmate Will Butler, combining nostalgic teen fare with an air of militaristic dystopia. It's about languid summer bike rides and the onset of a totalitarian state. Like chocolate and peanut butter.

Since we can pretty much cross off Arcade Fire on our list of 5 Albums of the Past Decade That Could Be Adapted Into Movies, I say Spike Jonze moves right along to another of our choices. The Fame Monster movie remains necessary.

UPDATE: Apparently, what was once available for U.S. audiences is no longer available, but you can click through to watch the trailer.
