More than two decades ago, Saturday Night Live guest host William Shatner leveled the shot heard 'round the pop-culture world (or at least a few thousand mothers' basements) when he told visitors to a Star Trek convention to "get a life." Over the weekend, with the updated film achieving maximum warp speed at the box office, it was Leonard Nimoy's turn to admonish potential haters.
The message has coarsened a bit in the 23 years since Shatner, though. Joined by current stars Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto, who do their patronizing best to assuage loyal Trekkies before finally demanding an end to their stalking and abuse, Nimoy has but one judgment to pass along after assuring the young men they'll be fine. There's no point in spoiling it here, I suppose; the very mildly NSFW clip below will fill you in. Naturally, expect Shatner to soon protest his exclusion from the skit he helped originate so long ago.
